Cycle ride up to lodhi rode

Hello Friends,

This time I ride up to lodhi road to see the beautiful paintings on the wall. It looks like replica of some street art of Europe.

There are total 18 wall paintings and they all look like master pieces. This initiative was taken by a non-profit organisation - St+ art Delhi. St+art brought together over 28+ street artists from India and across the world to brighten the city between Dec 2015 and March 2016.

I found my self lucky enough to be there and see some master pieces.

I road this place with a famous cycling group of Delhi Pedal Yatri, members of the group were very friendly. We assembled at botanical garden in Gurgaon, we were 8 members, we started our journey at 5:45am from there, we halted on Safdarjung flyover to get collected and from there we went together to find each painting. Pedal Yatri members has already been visited this place so they had good idea about the place and they were also knowing some good angle to take better pics.

We could see almost 13-14 paintings then we decided to go back to home and then we returned and made a Chattarpur red light as a meeting point. We reached there for Cold milk/ Lassi break and then we all moved to our own destination.

Cyle ride to Malayi Mandir, Delhi

Dear Friends,

Today I had no plan for ride , so I decided to ride up to Malayi Mandir. This place was related to my past. I use to live near this temple when I was doing MBA. I use to visit this place when ever I feel low.

I wanted to visit this place since long but after living in Gurgaon, it become a bit difficult to find time to visit this place, as it is around 32km from my place.

About temple :

The temple complex reverentially named as "Malai Mandir" is a harmoniously blended Tamil Word "Malai" (Mountain/Hill) with the Hindi word "Mandir" {Temple}by the people of Delhi. This temple reflects the glory and grandeur of South Indian Temple Architecture at its best. .

The temple complex of the Presiding Deity was consecrated and the Maha Kumbhabhishekam was performed on the 7th of June, 1973. The temple of Sree Karpaga Vinayakar, Sree Sundareswarar and Devi Meenakshi were consecrated and the Maha Kumbhabhishekam performed on the 13th June 1990.

Information collected from : http://www.malaimandir.org.in/

Best part of this ride : As I reached to the temple, security stopped me to enter in to the temple as I was wearing cycling short and short is not allowed in the temple. Which I was not knowing. I felt very bad that I ride around 32 km and need to cover another 32km to go back home and after making so much effort I will not be able to go inside the temple. I waited their for a which then only another guard who understood my situation offered me a dhoti (Piece of cloth). He suggested me, by wearing this dhoti I can enter into the temple. I became very happy with the solution and thanked to the God to finding a solution for me.

Ride with Pedal Yatri to Pathway

Hi Friends,

Last week I meet with a rider who was a member of a cyclist group named Pedal Yatri, I ride along with him and discussed regarding his ride. I came to know that is living very near to my place. It was a very good thing for me that I got a company near to my place. It was my main hurdle to ride along with a group that ride start point use to be very far from my place and the second thing was time. Group use to start their ride very early and it become difficult to reach that point on time. Now I am with a group member who is very well verse with the group and all the origin points.

We exchange our contact no. for further contact. We discussed few things regarding cycling on whatsup and on Friday he invited me to ride with him along with his group (Pedal yatri). I was very happy to know this that I can ride in a group. Group decided to visit Pathways in Aravali.

We decided to meet at 4:55am, we meet on scheduled time. We cycled upto Vatica City, Gurgaon to wait for some more Pedal Yatri members, within 10 minutes there were 7-8 members reached there. We started our ride towards Sohna. We took a right turn from Bikaner Sweets near Badshahpur. As soon as we left main road whole scene get changed, lots of greenery were there and all atmosphere was clean and clear, there were no dust no pollution, no noise pollution of vehicle or their horns.

Pedal Yatri Group Members
Group members were very cooperative and they welcome me for the ride. We kept chatting during the ride on several topics, like previous ride experience, about the place other riding place in Gurgaon and so on. They did't let me feel that I am riding first time with the group.

Prize distribution

One pedal yartri member informed us that other member is having chocolates to distribute one chocolate for each round. First thought which came in my mind was that it would be very easy to earn chocolates but you will not believe that road from start point till destination was on a angle of 75 degree, any how I managed to reach on the destination by saying "I can do it". As soon as I reached on top saw people are going to down to complete other round. I motivated my self that I can do one more round , reaching on source was very simple due to the slope but moving towards destination was horrible, legs were not allowing to move........ but I don't want to stop
Charpayee to hold my breath near Pathway
in between by seeing others stamina. Thank God to my wife who called me that time and I took a break to attend a call. I was unable to talk due to heavy breath.... this little stop gave me some power to complete one more round. I had no power to sit I totally got flat on a Charpayee which was near Hanuman statue. I informed other that it is enough for me, now I would like to take some rest. Other members completed 4-5 rounds. I was happy that I could complete at least two rounds.
Mosque near Pathway

We moved towards a mosque where we took some photographs and distributed prize (Chocolates).

View was amazing from the top of the mosque. By seeing the beauty of nature it was hard to believe that I am in Gurgaon , a so called cyber city. We spent some time over there and then came back to home.

This short trip with the group was a mind blowing experience. I would like to thank Pedal Yatri group for this trip and memorable photos.

Cycling to Deer Park, Hauz Khas , Delhi

Hi Friends,

Today I cycle to Deer park, this is situated in Hauz Khas, Delhi. When my friend suggested about this place I thought it would be a normal park but after visiting this place I found several things other then park, which you can clearly find in my pictures.

Today is Tuesday, so it is working day for others but my company did some adjustment with leaves and I got leave till Rakshabandhan, So I thought to utilize my leave by doing some cycling and decided to cycle upto Deer park in Hauz khas.

I left home around 5:40am, traffic was there due to working day. It took around 1 hour 15 minutes to reach there and in totality I took around 3 hrs and 45mins to complete my ride. I had no idea about this place but by the help of Google Map I easily reached this place.

My Route

Jharsa Chock - > Signature Tower - > Iffcco Chock ->M.G Raod -> Qutub Minar -> IIT -> Hauz  Khas -> Deer Park

My Cycling stat :

I found this place very energetic, lots of people were there, people were busy in doing Yoga, walking , running and some old people were busy in chatting. I found a place where a Pandit ji was singing some bhajans and people were enjoying to listen.

This park is having :

1. A good track to walk / Jog
2. Beautiful and old tank : this tank was built by Sultan Allauddin Khilji in 1295AD.
3. Old monuments : Munda Gumba
4. Greenery
5. Descent crowed to motivate for the fittness

Over all I found this park is having everything to enjoy with your family or friends.
